Premiere for 50 Cent movie shot in Grand RapidsThe director says every frame of the film "Caught In The Crossfire" was shot in Grand Rapids, and many of the actors and crew members are also from West Michigan. "75% of.

The people who worked on this film are from Grand Rapids," says director Brian Miller, who is himself an East Grand Rapids native.

"Caught In The Crossfire" had it's premiere Tuesday night at Celebration Cinema North. Recording artist Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson helped produce and stars in the film. He greeted reporters and fanson the red carpet.

"I'm so excited," said fan Theresa Maylone. "It's my birthday and I'm turning 50. Maybe he'll say Happy Birthday! "She's turning 50?," 50 Cent wanted to know.  "Happy Birthday, Theresa," he said with a smile. "Caught In The Crossfire" is the first of three films 50 Cent and his partners made, or are making, in West Michigan. They say the varied scenery and generous state film incentives make the area ideal. "There is such a wonderful look to the city," said Miller. "You can dress it up or dress it down." "I'm scheduled to produce two more films here," said 50 Cent.

The premiere also brought out some of the actors and technicians who worked on "Caught In The Crossfire." "The whole experience was very neat," said extra John Biehl. "I would do it again." "It was a lot of fun," said hair and makeup artist Candace Lilley. "50 Cent was wonderful. I had to cover up some tattoos and some fun stuff like that. Everyone was a lot of fun."

Others from the West Michigan crew that worked on "Crossfire" were unable to attend Tuesday night's premier. They are busy shooting "Things Fall Apart", the current Curtis Jackson, Brian Miller collaboration. "Caught In The Crossfire" is now available on DVD.
