50 Cent promises that his new line of SMS Audio headphones will beat out any current market competition, but the G-Unit CEO is also donating some of the proceeds from headphone sales to Feeding America. "Because of my Street King initiative, with every purchase there's a meal being provided through the United Nations World Food Programme," Fif tells MTV News. "And with this actual project, I decided I wanted to do something here in America. So for every pair of these headsets that are sold domestically and online through SMSAudio.com, 250 meals will be provided by Feeding America, which is our leading charitable organization against hunger."

Over the past few months, 50 has been outspoken about the need to fund charitable organizations, using sales from his Street King energy drink to launch a campaign focused on feeding "a billion kids."

"I think business is the answer for finding finances for situations that have been unanswered and untouched," 50 added. "If young entrepreneurs follow in my footsteps, with having a charitable business model that actually gives back, then you don't have people standing at Occupy Wall Street, because they're aware that the major corporations are conscious of them."c

50 Cent Talks Making Of "The Big 10" And "50 Cent Is The Future" (Watch Video)

Posted in : News, Videos

(added few months ago!)

DJ Whoo Kid caught up with 50 Cent earlier this week to discuss the release of his latest mixtape The Big 10. During the interview, Fif explained that he approached the project in more of an album frame of mind than that of a mixtape. He said that each song is a wholly original piece of work, and that he'd eventually like to buy the rights to them for future use in his films.

"This tape [The Big 10], it's not like the mixtapes [of today] anymore; it's like a LP," he explained. "Like War Angel ...it was music that I could have cleared everything on it. This tape [The Big 10] is the same. I'm gonna buy up all the [rights to the] tracks, because I don't want them to just be out there, and I'll probably use them them, place them in different films and such."

Fiddy also discussed his decade-old debut mixtape 50 Cent Is The Future and how the project came to revolutionize Hip Hop. He said that prior to dropping the project, most mixtapes were actual mixes of a variety of artists done by a DJ. Yet according to Fif, an encounter with a bootlegger selling 50 a mixtape of his own material prompted him to produce his own mixtape instead of relying on a DJ.

"Before 50 Cent Is The Future existed, what they call a mixtape now didn't exist. A mixtape prior to that was sending sixteen bars over to [a DJ] for [his] tape," he explained. "At that point, [with] 50 Cent Is The Future, what happened was...I saw a bootlegger, an African dude was at the corner [selling mixtapes]. When I went there, I said, 'What you got?' He said, 'Look, I got new...see? 50 Cent.' He was selling it to me based on me, but I didn't have any photographs any pictures or anything out there, so I said, 'I'm gonna make my own tape.'"

50 Cent Releases ‘I Just Wanna’ Video During Spat with Interscope (Watch Video)

Posted in : News, Videos

(added few months ago!)

Details concerning 50 Cent’s next single have escalated the rapper’s recent difficulties with Interscope Records. Fif has continued to indicate his dissatisfaction with the label over the past year, although he has at points backed off and indicated that the relationship was not as estranged as it seemed, this time the spat has prompted him to release a video unexpectedly.

50 Cent Releases ‘I Just Wanna’ Video During Spat with Interscope (Watch Video)

After Interscope launched the cover art for a new single from 50 Cent and revealed that it would be released on December 31st, Fif took to twitter to call out the label. “Man interscope put out the single art saying its coming out on the 31st but its not coming out. I’m not putting [until] we are all on the same page,” 50 Cent wrote.

Part of 50 Cent’s issue with the label is that it looks like his track has a title which is similar to an anticipated single off of Madonna’s upcoming album ‘Madonnarama’ which will apparently be called ‘Girls Gone Wild.’ “These people are gonna make kill one of them. Now madonna’s single is called GIRLS GONE WILD. This is some bull sh*t,” 50 Cent said through twitter.

The rapper then released a new video for ‘I Just Wanna’ featuring Tony Yayo, which is on his recently released mixtape ‘The Big 10,’ in response continuing his rant on twitter writting, “This is nuts to me. I try to do everything I can to keep my cool you know what? If they don’t care I don’t care I’m putting out a video now.”

During the summer 50 Cent threatened to cancel his upcoming album after the single ‘I’m on it’ was leaked. Fiddy, who blamed Interscope for the track’s early release, immediately threatened to release a new Dr. Dre track called ‘Psycho.’ As a result of the dispute, a release date for ‘Before I Self Destruct II’ has not been revealed.

50 Cent Is Excited About Lindsay Lohan's Playboy Issue

Posted in : News

(added few months ago!)

Lindsay Lohan's Playboy issue hits newsstands next week and one celeb isn't hiding his excitement over LiLo's spreads. In an interview with Hollyscoop, 50 Cent said he hadn't seen the photos, which leaked on the Internet last Friday, but that he was looking forward to it.  "I haven't seen it, but I always wondered what Lindsay's c---h looked like. Ever thought about it? I'll check it out and see what happens."Afterwards he said he wondered why posing nude in a magazine would earn a celebrity so much money when strippers are criticized for the same act while earning less for their actions.

50 Cent Is Excited About Lindsay Lohan's Playboy Issue

"[One] million to pose nude is the same thing strippers do almost every day for way less. If they give you a million dollars, does that change the status of what you've done? If I pay a hundred dollars ... is it the same thing as paying a million dollars when you're a movie star or celebrity? The same transaction? Or is it socially different? Does it register different because of how much?"All those questions about equal pay for strippers aside, it doesn't sound like 50 will boycotting Playboy anytime soon.

50 Cent Talks Signing Paris, New Album And Mixtape

Posted in : Albums, News

(added few months ago!)

50 Cent Talks Signing Paris, New Album And Mixtape50 Cent recently stopped by DJ Whoo Kid's Shade 45 XM Radio show to promote his latest mixtape project The Big 10. During the interview, the New York rapper spoke on up-and coming emcee Paris, who he recently signed to his G-Unit imprint and included her on the song "Queens, NY." He explained that he met the fellow Queens rapper over a year ago and that while her name isn't too well known as of now, she has been grinding in the music business for a minute.

"Paris has been around for a while. She's not like a new jack that just came in. Actually, I've known her for about over a year," he explained. "She's from my neighborhood...I just didn't jump and say I want to do this project. I waited until she was ready, until now it's like, it's easy. You have to do it, it's too good to let it sit...when you look at the material that she brought, it was so good that it was like, 'Aight, now you're ready'...I didn't want to go get an artist that you gotta go sit there to coach them through the whole process. She doesn't require that at this point, she's been working at it for quite some time...she's signed, we're finishing up her actual deal points now."

50 Cent also spoke about two upcoming projects he has in store for 2012: a Street King mixtape and his long-awaited fifth studio album. He explained that he had been working on the Street King tape prior to the release of The Big 10, but he put the project on temporary hiatus with the release of his most recent tape. Fif also added that he's aiming to drop his next LPat the top of 2012, although he's still waiting on certain business aspects to gain momentum before he makes it official.

"I'm not finished; my next tape is the [Street King] tape," he explained. "Y'all saw a couple of pieces off of that tape... but I didn't finish it because the thought of The Big 10 came up, and conceptually, the way I thought of it, it has to be a certain way because it's ten years [in the game]...I approached the tape like I approach an LP; I have a concept first and then I start to build songs that work concept-wise."

He added, "I wanna come out [with a new album] at the top of the year. I wanna be ready, but it's all on how everybody else puts together the actual marketing campaign. I don't have a timeline anymore; I'm doing the Dr. Dre [style of release]. I'm doing what Eminem does. I've been on a shot clock my entire career...my albums are so successful, it'll take a year for me to be done touring off it. I may not necessarily tour off of this album. I might release it and decide I'm going to make the next one instead of actually going out touring and letting everyone with live with that and do something different. Or they'll see me in spot dates."

50 Cent Attempts To Recapture The Magic With “The Big 10? Mixtape

Posted in : Albums, News

(added few months ago!)

Give or take a few months, it was about this time a decade ago a movement was brewing in Hip-Hop that effectively changed the way we hear music, embrace music and perceive success. Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson changed the scope of rap music in the 2000′s in ways both beneficial to the genre and detrimental all at once. And throughout it all, he’s always been one who has taken credit for everything he’s inflicted upon the music which turned him richer those Southside Jamacia, Queens, street corners ever could have. Nearly every beginning starts humble. Such is definitely the case in rap music is cultivated in some of the toughest environments known to America, places where dreams stay just that and reality and nightmares run side by side. Fif’s 50 Cent Is The Future was a release which helped usher in the G-Unit takeover and put the bug in the industry’s ear this Queens loose cannon wasn’t just the regular fly-by-night rapper.

50 Cent Attempts To Recapture The Magic With “The Big 10? Mixtape

Well, the next 10 years saw Curtis go from the highest of hip hop highs, the wildest of rap controversies to seeing his music become an afterthought in many circles. A hustler’s mentality never understands the word stop, so with that in mind, 2011′s The Big 10 mixtape pays homage to the previous handful of years with new music. The project won’t have the same impact as its predecessor. It’s impossible for it to mainly because there’s no way 50 could ever go back to that point in his life where making making music came this natural. Regardless of whether or not this serves as straight weed plate and recycle bin material, Curtis had a damn good run. You can’t take that from him.

50 Cent Speaks On Shifts In Music Marketing, SMS Audio Venture

Posted in : News, Videos

(added few months ago!)

50 Cent has taken on entrepreneurial and philanthropic adventures over the years, as well as launching his own label G-Unit and more recently G-Note Records. Speaking with WSJ.com, Fif explained how music marketing has changed over the years and how digital downloading should be embraced by record companies.

"That factor, now that 70 percent of the actual music is being consumed online, [users] have the option to steal it online or buy it online. I don’t think you fix it. I think Sean Parker has a pretty good idea with Spotify, because he’s aware of the damage done through Napster. And then he went forward with a model that could actually continue to at least have major corporations and major record companies feel like they’re taking a legitimate risk on marketing artists," he said. "Because now, you’re meeting the new artist before the record company does. All you need is a camera and today, your telephone’s a camera. You film yourself in the studio, and it’s right on YouTube. If you can identify with talent and hear it early on, and start to develop a following online, then the record companies come. So we’re losing artist development."

The G-Unit leader also spoke his venture with SMS Audio and the launch of his headphones, stating that he won't just build up the company and then sell it if the product succeeds. “This is something that I want to do in the long haul. I’ll be involved in this actual company. It’s something that will build up and then we’ll get rid of it. It’s exciting for me. Being part of this audio company is also a reflection of my passion for delivering music that sounds well.”Watch the full interview below, where he also speaks on his Street King initiative and misconceptions about his character based on his music.

50 Cent Calls Pauly D's Upcoming Album 'Exciting'

Posted in : Albums, News

(added few months ago!)

As early as April of this year, rumblings on the Web hinted that 50 Cent might sign "Jersey Shore" star and former Britney Spears tourmate Pauly D to his label, G-Note Records. But the deal wasn't confirmed until this week when both Fif and his new signee spread the word on Twitter.

During the launch party for his SMS Audio headphones line in NYC on Monday night, 50 Cent gave MTV News a few details on Pauly D's upcoming album, due out in 2012.

"Pauly's project is not all his performance on the actual records," Fif explained. "It's more like what you would get from a DJ Khaled or DJ Drama but also what you would get from David Guetta — so it's a cross between those two worlds, and I think it's exciting."

A cross between two of the most notorious hip-hop DJs and one of the most popular electronic DJs certainly sounds like a winning combination for Pauly D, who has already built a solid fanbase in reality TV. And with plans for Pauly to star in his own MTV show in the coming months, 50 is even more confident that the hair-gel fanatic is primed to blow up.

"He obviously has a huge platform moving forward. His show is a spin-off from 'Jersey Shore,' " 50 said. "And being in front of large audiences every night DJing — we're gonna make a hit record out of the actual material that we have around and some of the new stuff that we'll put together."

Maybe fans will get a chance to see 50 Cent and Pauly D working together on the album when the Rhode Island native finally debuts his own reality show. Earlier this year, Pauly D gave MTV News an idea of what fans might expect from the story line.

"It'll be probably along the lines of, I used to be this DJ in Rhode Island, DJing two sets a week, hustling, promoting," he explained. "And all of a sudden, I'm on this show, and now they're sending private jets for me to DJ for these huge crowds, yet I'm still the same guy that was DJing for 200 people, just loving life."

The show hasn't received an airdate just yet, but by the time it does, DJ Pauly D may well be an international superstar.

50 Cent Says Lil Wayne Is 'Turning Into 50 Cent', Warns That You Can't Be Hot Forever

Posted in : News

(added few months ago!)

50 Cent and Lil Wayne have had their problems in the past, with Fif taking shots at the rap star and his boss Birdman, but the G-Unit mogul realizes how much a force Weezy has become. In a recent cover story for XXL, 50 acknowledged Wayne's success, but warned that sooner or later, he won't be the hottest rapper alive ... like Fif was once considered.

50 Cent Says Lil Wayne Is 'Turning Into 50 Cent', Warns That You Can't Be Hot Forever"He's turning into 50 Cent," the rapper told the mag. "He's going through that process of being successful, 'til people go, 'You know what? Get the f*** outta here. We don't want you here no more.' Because you're successful."Later, he even admitted that he would've loved to have rival Fat Joe's smash single, "Lean Back," while discussing the current state of hip-hop.

"When I was in the mixtape circuit, there was a lot going on. I was able to take things that I wish I made myself and do 'em over," said 50. "Now it's not a lot of sh** out there I would do over. I'm like, 'Nah, that ain't even it right there.' You know what I'm saying? When Black Rob had 'Whoa!,' I wish that was my record. I wish 'Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See,' by Busta Rhymes, was my record. F***in' 'Lean Back,' I wish that was mine. You see what I'm saying? And you know me and Fat Joe don't get along. You know what I’m saying? But to the culture, when you have those moments... And I'm sure they'll tell you they wish they had 'In Da Club' and 'P.I.M.P.' "

Also in the interview, 50 talks about working with Dr. Dre for his upcoming project. Although there's a perception that he and Dre haven't been on the best of terms lately, 50 says Dre has been very involved ... as was 50 on Detox.

"Dre helped me a lot on this record," he revealed. "I went to Los Angeles, was working out there for a little bit. I was working on the Detox records, right. I keep saying to Dre, I'm like, 'Yo, you don’t have to invent nothing. All they want is a strong version of what you gave last time.' They need a new version of that. It's like Sade. She goes away for six years, and then she comes back with a new disc. You go, 'I love this sh**!' It reminds you of the f***in' sh** that she gave you before she left. There's certain artists that have that luxury. You could go away and still be interesting enough to come for people to want to hear that effort. Dre is like that. As I'm busy telling him that, I go, 'Wait, maybe I'm bugging for some of the sh** that I've been doing.' You know what I mean?"

At press time, further details about 50's upcoming musical project was unknown. However, he's been hard at work promoting his upcoming Street King Energy shot, as well as his new Sync By 50 "SMS Wireless Hybrid Headphones".
