Justin Bieber Is Big Floyd Mayweather Fan, 50 Cent Says

Posted in : News

Justin Bieber Is Big Floyd Mayweather Fan, 50 Cent SaysEveryone loves a champion, and currently there is no bigger boxing champ than Floyd "Money" Mayweather. Not only did the outspoken pugilist attract a record number of pay-per-view fans for his May 5 match against Miguel Cotto, he also brought music's brightest stars to the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on fight night. Of course 50 Cent was on hand to cheer on his buddy Floyd, and Justin Bieber and Lil Wayne made their way to the ring as well.

Many fight fans were surprised to see that the Biebs had been in Mayweather's dressing room for the fight preparations; after that, JB walked with the undefeated Floyd to the ring, helping to hold the champ's belts.

Boxing Brought Together 50 Cent, Justin Bieber And Lil Wayne
"Justin is also a Floyd fan. They love the sport. A lot of people like it and haven't actually made contact or received anything to make them feel like it was cool or comfortable enough for them to come," 50 said about JB's much-discussed ring walk. "When it actually happens and it goes down like that, it feels good. When they get a chance to see different genres, different people, everybody's excited."

One of the more excited fans was Floyd's daughter Iyanna, who, according to 50, was fixated on the teenage idol. "Floyd's daughter, Yaya, she saw half the fight, the other half she was looking at Bieber," the rapper joked. "He just got that thing for the younger generation, too — he's it."

Some were also surprised to see Lil Wayne in the ring. In the past, he and 50 haven't been the best of friends, so many assumed that Floyd would inherit Fif's perceived rap beefs, but that isn't the case. In fact, Mayweather is a Weezy fan; he listens to his music constantly while training.

"Floyd has a huge passion for music that people don't know about," 50 explained. "It's a big part of what makes him comfortable and takes his mind off of how hard he has to work to stay being the #1 fighter in the world. With Wayne's music momentum, he's a part of that; he's been a part of the playlist, so it's cool."

After Floyd dusted off Cotto in a unanimous decision, he, Bieber, Weezy and 50 all celebrated in the ring and even posed for a few pictures. Though Fif sported his patented menacing scowl, he insists that there was no problem whatsoever. "The pictures, when I'm not paying attention, they take some really weird facial expressions of me," he said. "I'm like, 'What the f--- was I thinking at that point?' It's nothing there to make me feel uncomfortable."

(added 3 days ago)

50 Cent’s The Lost Tape Release Pushed Back to May 22The release date of 50 Cent’s new mixtape, The Lost Tape, has been pushed back a week till May 22. The original date was May 15. The compilation will mark 50’s first collaboration with DJ Drama’s popular Gangsta Grillz mixape series.

“It’s just timing, things change too,” 50 told MTV’s Mixtape Daily Friday (May 11) of his first collaboration with Drama. “I had the name for it and everything Blood in a Gangsta’s Grill and we never actually went to actually create the tape because technology at that period opened up in a way that I can distribute the music to the masses without actually utilizing a DJ.”

“I’m back on the streets man, it’s goin’ down,” ’Fif continued with sheer excitement. “I don’t wan to put too many joints on a tape where it overwhelms people and I don’t like making Now compilations where I got so many people on it where you ain’t sure you like it.”

50 Cent Ready To Unleash 'The Lost Tape'

Posted in : News

(added 5 days ago)

50 Cent Ready To Unleash 'The Lost Tape'50 Cent is taking it back to the original hustle, hitting the streets with that raw and uncut. It was his mixtape grind which first made the G-Unit general a unmovable force in rap and no matter the industry banter or label politics, Fif won’t stop feeding the block.

“I’m back on the streets man, it’s goin’ down. Gangsta Grillz, the first Gangsta Grillz, it’s been long overdue,” 50 told Mixtape Daily on Friday while he was sitting in his G-Unit office in midtown Manhattan.

On May 22 Fif is teaming with DJ Drama to drop The Lost Tape, a 13-track mixtape filled with murderous material. “I don’t want to put too many joints on a tape where it overwhelms people and I don’t like making Now compilations where I got so many people on it where you ain’t sure you like it,” he said of his formula.

Fif is no stranger to the mixtape circuit; in fact he defined the grind that is crucial to almost every rap artist today when he dropped the now classic 50 Cent is the Future in 2002. Since then 50 has followed up with unforgettable titles like No Mercy, No Fear, Sincerely Yours, Southside, Forever King and The Big 10 which he dropped at the top of December. Today you’ll be hard-pressed to find a rap artist who doesn’t drop a mixtape to get their buzz up. Not that 50 needs a buzz, he’s just doing what he enjoys, so next up is the Lost Tape, his first collaboration with DJ Drama.

The pair had planned to link up some years ago, but things didn’t pan out. “It’s just timing, things change too,” 50 explained. “I had the name for it and everything Blood in a Gangsta’s Grill and we never actually went to actually create the tape because technology at that period opened up in a way that I can distribute the music to the masses without actually utilizing a DJ.”

Now, with the upcoming The Lost Tape fans will finally get to hear the two mixtape kings in tandem. The RapFix team got an early listen and trust us, it’ll be well worth the wait. After all who do you think started this mixtape thing?

“When someone handing you a mixtape out there, like 'Yo I’m hot' and handing you a mxitape, they don’t realize they’re handing you that tape because of me,” 50 said.

(added 8 days ago)

Rapper 50 Cent seems to be considering a new career. The prominent member of Floyd Mayweather's entourage has revealed that he wants to join him in the boxing ring in the future. Now, videos on YouTube have resurfaced of 50 Cent attacking a speed bag.

Comments After the Fight
Although he has acknowledged his love for the sport in the past, 50 Cent seems serious about becoming a boxer. After the May 5 fight in Las Vegas that kept Floyd Mayweather's perfect record, 50 Cent shared his career aspirations with the media. He mentioned, "I love the sport. I fell in love with it when I was like 12 years old. So it's interesting that I get to live vicariously through Floyd." 50 Cent also shared that he wants to train and become a boxer.

This is not the first time that 50 Cent has indicated his interest in joining Mayweather in the ring. In April 2012, Floyd told reporters that the rapper would be joining the boxing promotion aspect of his business. He also mentioned the possibility that 50 Cent could end up on his undercard. 50 Cent is already helping Mayweather promote his fights by encouraging his Twitter followers to order the May 5 fight again.
YouTube Resurrection

50 Cent's comments on May 5 have led to a YouTube resurrection of several videos that show him punching a speed bag. The videos are still being spread among fans on May 9. 50 Cent appears in a video from 2007 at a Los Angeles gym. He is also featured in a video from 2011 that includes Floyd Mayweather Jr. giving him tips on the speed bag.

50 Cent attends many of Mayweather's training sessions and seems like a permanent member of his gym. After spending years by his side, it is not surprising that 50 Cent believes he can step into a ring. The rapper claims that he is slightly over 200 pounds but wants to lose enough weight to reach 168 pounds. Apparently, 50 Cent wants to compete in the middleweight category and may want to start training to lose the weight.

50 Cent Talks Reunion With Game

Posted in : News

(added 9 days ago)

While in Las Vegas for the Floyd Mayweather fight this weekend, 50 Cent stopped by Bootleg Kev's Hot 97.5 radio show to share what was on his mind. In addition to discussing his upcoming Gangsta Grillz mixtape and album, Fif talked about the likelihood of ever recording again with Game and why G-Unit Records was dropped from Interscope.

50 Cent Talks Reunion With Game

On Game, 50 said that, given their combative history, he doesn't know whether he'd ever be able to work with his former protégé again.

"I don't know. Let me see if this is just one of my character defects or not: when you said [Game's album The Documentary] was crazy, you're making reference to things I wrote," he said. "Meaning, the first three singles off of that were things that I wrote. So now, when you look at that, and you look at all the disrespect that was displayed over the years, ask yourself — would you be inherently uncomfortable with the concept of associating yourself again with someone where... you don't even know where it came from. If I did something wrong, I can accept it... But if I didn't do anything at all and it turns into what that turned into, I'ma just stay away from it."

As for the current state of G-Unit, 50 addressed the label's recent departure from Interscope Records. Fif said he had structured the original G-Unit/lnterscope deal to be so lucrative for his artists that the label just couldn't afford them anymore.

"The reason why G-Unit was dropped, so that the general public understands, the reason G-Unit was dropped from Interscope Records was because the deal I gave [G-Unit] was so well put together for them that they were to receive $750,000 in advance on the next albums — each one of the artists," 50 said. "[Interscope's] gotta remove that in this climate of record sales."

50's still-untitled next album is currently slated for July 2. On May 15, he'll release The Lost Tape, a highly anticipated Gangsta Grillz mixtape with DJ Drama. The Queens MC recently released a remixed version of 2 Chainz’s “Riot,” which will be featured on the tape.

50 Cent Talks New Album, Ending Beef With Game

Posted in : News

(added 10 days ago)

50 Cent Talks New Album, Ending Beef With Game50 Cent is ready to get back in full promotional mode. The G-Unit head is gearing up for the release of his The Lost Tape mixtape, and new album, the latter of which is out July 2. In a new interview, the rapper revealed that although the album is nearly done, he still has lots more work to do. "My project is pretty much done, but I'm not done writing," he told Bootleg Kev of Las Vegas radio station Hot 97.5

The Queens rapper, who was in town to watch his buddy Floyd Mayweather defeat Miguel Cotto, explained that unlike Before I Self-Destruct, the new release will not be a reflection of vintage 50 Cent records. "When you say 'take it back,' you're not leaving any room for growth," he said. "For me, it has that energy that they were attracted to on Get Rich or Die Tryin,'  all across the board. I just think the way I articulated things on this project, my choices, are better, I think I'm better. I'm thinking it out a little more. They'll get a chance to see where I am."

Taking his time to put together the new album, has also made 50 have a change of heart in regards to his beef with Game. Although he's not completely over the long-standing disagreement, he has vowed not to rehash any old beef.  "You look at all the disrespect that was displayed over the years, ask yourself--would you be inherently uncomfortable with the concept of associating yourself again with someone where, you don't even know where it came from? If I did something wrong, I can accept it...But if I didn't do anything at all and it turns into what that turned into, I'ma just stay away from it."While the Game rift is still not completely dead, the good news is that the public will be able to judge 50's lyrical growth, when The Lost Tape drops May 15.

Posted in : News

(added 10 days ago)

50 Cent Talks Upcoming Fifth Album, Explains Why G-Unit Was Dropped From Interscope50 Cent has been in Las Vegas as of late, showing support for longtime friend/boxer Floyd Mayweather’s training camp, during which he stopped by Bootleg Kev’s Las Vegas radio show and discussed several topics.

During the interview, the hip-hop mogul talks about recording is upcoming, as-yet-titled fifth album and the Gangsta Grillz mixtape with DJ Drama coming May 15th. As of press time, Fif has set a July 2nd date for his official LP, which he says should remain as the days inch closer, but he’ll continue recording up until that date.

“My project is pretty much done, but I’m not done writing,” the rapper explained. “When you say ‘take it back,’ you’re not leaving any room for growth. You’re staying ‘Stay where you were ten years ago.’ For me, it has that energy that they were attracted to on Get Rich or Die Tryin’, all across the board,” 50 continued. “I just think the way I articulated things on this project, my choices, are better. I think I’m better. I’m thinkin’ it out a little more. They’ll get a chance to see where I am.”As the chat with Kev continued, 50 explained why Interscope Records dropped his G-Unit Records imprint.

“The reason why G-Unit was dropped — so that the general public understands: the reason G-Unit was dropped from Interscope records was because the deal I gave them was so well put together for them that they were to receive $750,000 in advance on the next albums — each one of the artists. They gotta remove that in this climate of record sales.”

Also in the interview, 50 expressed his appreciation for Meek Mill, Mike Knox, and other Philly rappers, his rise through mixtapes, and which new rappers he’s liking right now, as well as having his tattoos removed, writing for The Game’s debut album, and more.

Posted in : News

(added 13 days ago)

50 Cent tapped Joan Rivers to co-star in his new 'Street King' energy drink commercial, where the feisty icon, decked out in chinchilla, tries to seduce the beefed-up MC. MTV News caught up with Joan Rivers in New York City when she filmed the clip with 50 Cent recently and she only had the most positive things to say about her co-star.

“He is adorable,” she dished. “I didn’t know what to expect. I thought I was going to get a smart-ass rapper and he is adorable and smart and cute and funny. He’s just adorable. He certainly understands what we’re doing, which is lovely cause he’s making it fun to improvise.”

Rivers was totally cool with her role, of trying to seduce 50, joking, “I dated his father a dollar thirty for years. We were an item. People thought it was what I cost, but we were an item. 50 can be my son, 50 can be my lover. We could have dated with Demi and Ashton, if this was two years ago.

Jay-Z & 50 Cent Both Launch Facebook Gaming ApplicationsAs rappers, both Jay-Z and 50 Cent have battled it out on the charts but now the two Hip Hop moguls turned businessmen have found a new platform to compete with one another on and that is the Facebook gaming platform.

For his Facebook game titled 50 Cent’s Blackjack, 50 Cent linked up with Game Show Network (GSN) Digital to create a virtual casino where Facebook users can challenge their friends or play the games dealer.

"I am excited to partner with GSN Digital on this venture to create an unparalleled social gaming experience for my fans," 50 Cent explained to Hip-Hop Wired. "50 Cent's Blackjack is filled with fun twists and innovative features that is sure to provide hours of entertainment."

Unlike 50 Cent’s Blackjack, Jay-Z’s Empire will take more of a Sims-like approach where Facebook users can quite literally create their own empires as they work their way from “hustler, to entrepreneur, to business mogul.”While 50 Cent’s Blackjack is up and running on Facebook, according to Complex Jay-Z’s Empire is currently in its beta testing stage.
